Yes, You CAN Fix Your Teeth with Invisalign

Your orthodontist can do so much more with Invisalign & clear aligners than ever before.  If you think that you are not a candidate for clear aligners, it may be time to reconsider.  Read below and see with your own eyes what is possible.  The pictures are of our actual patients who were treated with clear aligners in our Vacaville orthodontic office

Warning: Not all aligner treatments provide the same level of care. You can learn more here

Aligners can be a good option for both teens & adults with:

Overbite

Do your front teeth stick out too much? Contrary to what you may have been told, it is possible to use elastics (rubber bands) with Invisalign to correct your overbite. For a severe overbite that requires extractions, even extractions are possible with clear aligners.

Results after 8 months of aligner treatment. The overbite has been corrected. This patient still has attachments on their teeth, but they will be removed when treatment is done.

Mild, Moderate, and Severe Crowding

Think again if you believe your teeth are too crowded for aligners.

With excellent aligner wear, this patient was able to finish treatment 6 months before estimated total treatment time.

Underbite

Do your lower teeth stick out in front of your upper teeth? With the right plan from your orthodontist, aligners can correct underbites.

This patient had an underbite involving 3 out of 4 front teeth (incisors). Using aligners & rubber bands, they completed treatment in 17 months.

Open bite

People with anterior open bites are unable to touch their upper & lower front teeth. They have issues biting through food on their front teeth. When they eat a sandwich, the lettuce pulls right out. This kind of bite puts too much stress on the back teeth (since the front teeth don’t touch). Aligners are actually better than braces for correcting mild to moderate open bites.  The reason is a bit too complicated for this post, so consult your orthodontist to ask why this is true.

The front teeth were not touching, which made it very difficult for this patient to eat. With aligners, this patient will have a more stable result than with braces.

Protruding teeth

Do your upper AND lower teeth stick out too much? We can use aligners to upright them.

We used clear aligners to upright the upper & lower incisors. The teeth are no longer flared.

Deep bite

A deep bite can contribute to increased wear and make jaw pain worse, especially if you have a grinding or clenching habit. In the past, aligners were not very good at correcting deep bites. Now, with the right plan, a deep bite can be corrected effectively.

The lower teeth are now much more visible after aligner treatment. Over time, this patient will have less wear on her front teeth.
